In case you’re not in the Florida up and coming band loop, Set And Setting is a magnanimous helping of post/heavy metal music. Shane Handal, of these upsurging Tampa Bay Post Metal combatants, allowed us here at HBnBM to interview him after their show at BackBooth, Nov. 17, 2013.
Make sure to thank Kyle Raker and Norse Korea for a fantastic time if you happened to be there.
Their set from that night is available in this interview for those who love/never heard this band before. Set and Setting released their sophomore full length, Equanimity, last year through Science of Silence Records.
Shane goes into detail about his journey with Set and Setting from the beginning dropping references like Pink Floyd and Godspeed as huge influences. Glenn then goes on to discuss their favorite and most hated parts of touring, gear, and other road essentials and mishaps.
Set and Setting is Shane Handal on guitar, Mark Etherington on drums, Stephen Handal also on Drums and ambiance, Ryan Fugate on guitar and Nick Sibilia on bass. Having only put their first demo out in 2012, I think it’s safe to say that we can expect even more moving forward from these guys. Make sure you download and listen to Equanimity on repeat or capture a vinyl if you still can.
It won’t be long ’til band starts moving too fast for us to keep up!
